Cameron Hill has completed his Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia 86 Series cameo appearance at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 with another second-place finish in Race 4, after being part of a highly entertaining battle for the lead.

Hill slotted into third position behind Lachlan Gibbons and Aaron Borg, who became engaged in fierce combat and swapped positions on several occasions.

As Gibbons and Borg tussled for the win in the very last corner, Borg ran wide which enabled Hill to slip into second position at the finish line.

“That was another really fun race – Lachlan and Aaron had a cracking battle and I was in the best position to watch it all unfold,” Hill said.

“I knew I was secure in third spot, but was presented with the opportunity to move into second in the last corner.

“Overall, it’s been a terrific weekend and a fantastic opportunity for me to go racing again – it’s been far too long.

“The on-track competition was very enjoyable, but so was working with the Toyota Gazoo Racing crew and providing guidance and support for other drivers in the category.”

Hill is now looking forward to returning to the wheel of his Porsche Carrera Cup car.

“We weren’t able to resume our Carrera Cup season this year, but hopefully we’ll be able to return to some form of normality in 2021,” he said.
