Cameron Hill to continue at Matt Stone Racing on multi-year deal

MEDIA RELEASE VIA MATT STONE RACING

Cameron Hill will continue as an integral part of Matt Stone Racing’s future in Supercars, inking a new multi-year deal with the team.

The 26-year-old Canberran has made strong progress in his maiden Repco Supercars Championship campaign this season, proving he is a top 10 contender.

Hill is set to continue with MSR into 2025, solidifying a rising star’s future within the team.

Since joining the Gold Coast-based squad, Hill has been a great team culture fit within the family-run operation and his progress this season has been one to watch.

This multi-year agreement reinforces MSR and Hill’s collective vision for success as the team continues to build on its upward trajectory after MSR achieved its maiden Supercars race win earlier this season.

Although there are still four rounds remaining in the current season, Hill has already achieved a top five qualifying result and finished in the top 8 in Tasmania, cementing his credentials.

Despite luck deserting him at times this season, Hill’s attitude, resilience and growth continues to reinforce MSR’s belief in not only his potential, but a bright future that lays ahead with the team.

Both Hill and MSR are now building up to the Sandown 500 on September 15-17, which will mark Hill’s first enduro campaign as a primary driver.

He will be joined by co-driver Jaylyn Robotham in Car #35.

“It’s good to have Cam locked in for the next few seasons. We have been impressed by his progress over this year and he has proven himself as a valuable asset to our team, and really become part of the family here. We have seen him grow and develop as a driver, and we have no doubt that he has what it takes to race at the front of the Supercars field. This long-term commitment between MSR and Cam strengthens our combined vision for success and as a team we’ll continue to provide him with the resources and support necessary to continue on this upward trajectory together."

“To have a multi-year contract locked in is awesome. It’s really good for the mindset to know what the future holds. For a long time in my junior career you’re never more than 12 months ahead in your planning as it's like ‘we’re doing this now, but who knows what we’re going to do next year’. To have this locked in is great because you’re just starting to settle in and chip away at improving over time. It is the premier category of Australian motorsport, it’s certainly competitive and it will be good to have some runway in front of me to continue to climb up.

“It’s been a really awesome year working with the guys at Matt Stone Racing. I’m grateful to the team for putting its trust in me for the next few seasons and I want to reward that investment by lifting us both as high as we’ve ever been.

“I know my goals and what I want to achieve, Matt also has big targets as well. We’ve gelled well and together we see all these goals and targets as achievable. It’s cool to have a group of people surrounding you that believe in and want to back you, so I want to repay all that.

“To get this confirmed prior to the biggest races of the season is awesome. There is already a lot of pressure that comes with the endurance races, so to not have that added external pressure of not knowing where you’re going to be next year is a really good thing. I can just focus on improving, but not rushing because this is still my first endurance season as a main driver and the most important thing is we just learn as much as we can while keeping the momentum pointing the right way.”
