Porsche Carrera Cup points leader Cameron Hill has been buoyed by his strong form in practice for Round 2 of the series at The Bend Motorsport Park in South Australia today, setting the fastest time in the day’s first session.

Hill said the most encouraging thing was the performance of his Squadra Bespoke Porsche 911 as soon as he hit the track.

“As soon as we rolled the car out of the truck, it felt good and I knew it was in the ballpark,” Hill said.

“In the first session, I was immediately comfortable in the car and pleased to finish on top of the timesheets.”

Hill was fifth-fastest in the second session, the team experimenting with the car setup to match The Bend’s ever-evolving track conditions.

“We experimented with some changes in the second session to try and get a read on the changing track, and we definitely learned some things that will help us in qualifying tomorrow,” he said.

“We didn’t use green tyres in the second session, so I think we were still there or thereabouts in terms of our pace.”

Hill will be back on track for qualifying at 10:10 tomorrow morning, with the first race to be held at 2:50pm.
