Cameron Hill to rev up the Canberra Festival of Speed in his Supercar

Cameron Hill and his Matt Stone Racing Gen3 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will be the star attractions alongside some exotic machinery at the Canberra Festival of Speed on March 2-3.

Following his maiden Repco Supercars Championship season last year, Hill will return the excitement of the series to the nation’s capital in both static and active displays during the event.

It marks 22 years since the final Canberra street race event held between 2000 and 2002 as Supercars roared around a tight 3.990km street circuit featuring Parliament House as a backdrop.

Hill is not the only attraction as a wide array of exotica including the likes of the Ferrari F40, Lamborghini Countach in addition to other motorsport representation from Formula 1, Trans Am, GT and other disciplines.

Organised by Project Cars in partnership with the Canberra Racing Club, the Festival of Speed of which Hill is ambassador promises to be an exciting event as more than 300 cars will be on display and most will be active on a purpose-built circuit.

“It's a historic moment for Canberra as we showcase this active V8 supercar in both static and dynamic displays, navigating our exhibition circuit,” Project Supercars Martin Tanti said.

“This marks a significant milestone, as Canberra hasn't witnessed an active V8 supercar in motion since the GMC 400 more than 23 years ago.

“We are displaying some of the greatest supercars the world has to offer from Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren and Porsche just to name a few.

“Our event is experiencing remarkable growth, reaching beyond Canberra, with participants traveling from Melbourne, Sydney, Queensland and Europe.

“We are immensely grateful for the overwhelming support extended to us so far by renowned exotic car manufacturers and esteemed motorsport groups globally.

“The excitement in the community is palpable and we’ve been blown away by the social media response and ticket sales so far.”

Tickets are available starting at $18.40 for 11-16-year-olds, adult entry is at $28.60 and children 10 or under are free. Find all information about the Canberra Festival of Speed here.
